Local Bookshops

4-5 Milsom St, Bath BA1 1DA, UK – 01225 448515

A fantastic book shop spread over three floors - it feels like every book ever published is here. A wonderful place to browse - even if you know what you are looking for - I usually end of coming out with at least one more book than I intended to buy. The staff know their stuff and can help you find books if you are having trouble. They have their own coffee shop which is a nice are to relax before, after or during your book shopping. My only niggle is they are generally more expensive than buying online - but that's partially counterbalanced by the ability to browse at leisure.

One of the best shops in Bath. A fine range of books, well presented, over several floors. Plus a very good coffee shop in which to have a break from browsing the shelves. People behind the counters very nice, helpful and knowledgeable.

The Oldfield Park Bookshop

43 Moorland Rd, Bath BA2 3PN, UK – 01225 427722

I can't recommend this book shop enough. Every visit is an absolute joy. The owner and staff are exceptionally knowledgeable and approachable. Anyone with even an inckling of an interest in books should absolutely visit this shop because you will come away feeling inspired.

Brilliant local bookshop with friendly and helpful service. Order any book. Highly recommended.

6-7 Union St, Bath BA1 1RT, UK – 01225 460522

It's a big chain store, but I've found the staff extremely helpful (especially for locating an obscure magazine must as it's hit the stands). Lots of selection and the shelves are well stocked. Stationary can be very pricey so be advised it may be cheaper elsewhere.

Can be expensive but we love going here with the kids in the sales as their discounts are really good. Helpful to have so much choice in one store when managing kids with vouchers, saves traipsing toys loads of shops. Excellent selection of magazines too.
